Advisor to the Chief Minister Mumtaz Hameed has ordered action against concerned officials of the City Government and Water Board following the sinking of a portion of newly constructed Rashid Minhas Road between Askari Petrol Pump and NIPA due to water leakage. He also immediately summoned a meeting of the representatives of concerned departments for solution of the problem. Earlier, during a visit to the road, the Chief Engineer Nazir Qidwai informed the advisor the work was carried out as per plan of utility provided by the water board.
He said the road sank at different points because of illegal water connections, which were not shown in the plan.
The advisor made it plain that whosoever found at fault in that regard, strict action would be taken against him. He also made it clear no compromise would be allowed on quality and material used.
